Migrating to Logi Symphony: Insight Software Partners with dbSeer

dbSeer is partnering with Insight Software to help customers migrate from Logi Info, Exago and Izenda to Logi Symphony. This migration of reports and dashboards is an opportunity for customers to streamline reporting and enhance their BI capabilities to the latest technologies. By following dbSeer’s three-phase strategy, Assessment, Mobilize, Migrate & Modernize, customers can have a smooth and worry-free migration approach.

The Assessment Phase

This is the first step in the migration process. The objective is to evaluate the current reports, dashboards and data sources the customer has in order for dbSeer to define a tailored migration plan. The dbSeer team takes about two weeks to do the initial assessment phase, over two weeks we:

  • Review your business requirements and goals
  • Inventory your data sources, reports and dashboards
  • Run a technical assessment for migration and identify any gaps or challenges
  • Estimate the overall cost of migration
  • Establish a roadmap for present and future data, reporting or dashboard needs

After the initial Assessment Phase, customers can assess moving to next steps. We recommend partnering with dbSeer for the entire process to ensure your data ecosystem remains safe and sound throughout the process.

The Mobilize Phase

If customers choose to move beyond the Assessment Phase, the Mobilize Phase validates the migration approach and prepares for full-implementation. This includes four aspects:

  1. Architecture Design: Define the architecture design and security approach for a transition to Symphony.
  2. Data Migration & Pipeline: Design the migration process for data sources, ETL processes, stored procedures/views into Logi Symphony cubes.
  3. Proof of Concept (POC) for Key Functionality: POC for critical functionalities and review any alternative approaches that will be required with the customer.
  4. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and ensure migration approach is agreed-upon by all parties involved.

The Migrate & Modernize Phase

After the Assessment Phase and the Mobilize Phase, customers enter in the final phase: Migrate & Modernize. This is where dbSeer will execute the migration to Logi Symphony and ensure a successful transition to the new software. This phase includes:

  • Data Migration: Implement the data cubes from various sources, define the data model and relationships and row-level security (RLS.)
  • Report & Dashboard Migration: Migrate reports and dashboards  properly and enable self-service reporting for the customer.
  • Enabling New Features: Enable Logi Symphony’s new features and ensure utilization for future reporting.
  • Performance Optimization: Implement any performance optimization as identified by previous phases in the older system.
  • Deployment & User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Conduct integration testing and perform UAT.
  • User Training: Once the migration is complete, we want to ensure your team understands how to use the latest software. We offer training sessions, user manuals and hands-on workshops to ensure proper adoption throughout your company.
